A graduate of Power Memorial High School in Manhattan, Mr. Bonomi, pursued his studies in Psych Rehab at Lehman College and the College of Staten Island. A small business owner at the time, he made a change and began his current career with South Beach Psychiatric Center as a shift coordinator. Promoted to vocational coordinator, he was responsible for starting a variety of programs, including vending, a gift shop, a cleaning training program, an outside cleaning business, and a gardening program. He was an original member of the committee that started the screen-printing business that, in 1995, became Special Tees. As Director of the business/program for more than 25 years, he has trained and employed upwards of 35 people of all abilities per year. Working with schools and non-profits to expand on the importance of gaining experience in a work setting, to develop self-esteem, self-worth and socialization skills, while putting a quality product out to our community. Special Tees became the model for affirmative businesses to follow in NYC and led the way for others to develop programs geared to give an opportunity to those people that need it most.
In September of 2021, he partnered into Trade Mark Graphics, a 40 year old company that provides, wearable and promotional items to schools, teams, organizations and businesses. As Vice President and managing partner, he continues to serve his community and businesses alike, just as he has for the past 27 plus years.
That same year, 2021, Mr. Bonomi started VJB Consulting to continue working with Non-profits such as the Grace Foundation, and the individuals they serve, to continue his belief that when given an equal opportunity, people of all abilities can be productive members of society and live a fulfilling life.
